FORT WORTH – The SHINE Initiative, celebrating a decade of service to girls and women in 2018, is pleased to announce this year's Rise and SHINE Grant Recipients.

Alliance for Children - Therapeutic Intervention for Victims of Child Abuse
Foundation for Young Women's Leadership Academy - Lighting Up the Room
CASA of Tarrant County - Healing Relationships: Trauma-Informed Advocacy for Girls
The Ladder Alliance - Workforce Development: Computer Skills Training
The purpose of these grants is to encourage and equip service providers to expand or introduce program offerings for local girls and women in SHINE’s five key areas of focus: Safety, Health, Inspiration, Nurturing, and Education.
“As we approach a decade of sharing the message that all girls and women should be safe, healthy, inspired, nurtured, and educated, we are thrilled to see these funds pour out into the community and serve in so many ways," said Staci Kirpach, founder of The SHINE Initiative. "These grants represent help for children who have been abused or neglected, mothers working to restore their families, teen girls dedicated to reaching their full potential, women gaining skills and training necessary for today's workforce, and critical counseling and therapy services for the most at-risk youth among us. Helping introduce or expand each of these outreaches is an important way that SHINE advances its mission throughout our community."
The SHINE Initiative's mission is to ensure that girls and women are Safe, Healthy, Inspired, Nurtured, and Educated. SHINE believes that when these five components of life come together in a positive way, they build a solid foundation for a person to live more fully with purpose. In short, they encourage girls and women to live lives that shine.
