2017 Rise and SHINE Grant Program Announced


2017 Rise and SHINE Grant Applications Released

FORT WORTH, January 9, 2017– The SHINE Initiative announced its 2017 Rise and SHINE Grant Program which will provide funding for nonprofit organizations in Tarrant County. The purpose of these grants is to encourage and equip service providers to expand or introduce program offerings for local girls and women in SHINE’s five key areas of focus: Safety, Health, Inspiration, Nurturing, and Education.

“We believe one of the best ways to create more compassionate communities is to ensure girls and women shine.,” said Staci Kirpach, founder of The SHINE Initiative. "We are excited to encourage existing nonprofits to expand or introduce programs that are focused on keeping girls and women safe, healthy, inspired, nurtured, and educated.”

The SHINE Initiative funds broad-based inclusive initiatives that impact the overall well-being of girls and women in these five identified focus areas. Registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organizations in Tarrant County are encouraged to apply for funding beginning Monday, January 9, 2017. Applications will be due to THE SHINE Initiative on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

The SHINE Initiative, founded in 2008, is a registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas. Our mission is to ensure that girls and women are Safe, Healthy, Inspired, Nurtured, and Educated. We believe when these five components of life come together in a positive way, they build a solid foundation for a person to live more fully with purpose. In short, we encourage girls and women to live lives that shine.
